Last night around 8 PM, I walked out of the Long Museum with an iced Americano in hand, took a turn, and suddenly found myself in this sparkling “Zootopia.” Totally free, no reservations needed, and hardly any queues on-site—it felt like hitting the jackpot on a weekend in Shanghai. I was first stunned by that 8-meter tall Popsicle, and then took a couple of steps forward to see Judy's bunny borough lit up with tiny light strings, making it look like an animation was just brought to life by the Huangpu River.
This pop-up exhibition is divided into two phases:
The entire path stretches along the river, from the orange tower crane to the back door of Long Museum, it takes only about ten minutes to walk, allowing plenty of time for photos. Even at a slow pace, you can finish exploring in half an hour. The night view is way better than during the day; when the lights turn on and the river breeze blows, you just feel healed.

I arrived at 9 PM, and there were still parking spots available; street parking costs 6 yuan/hour. If you take the subway, the 11 line Yun Jin Road station is about a 10-minute walk away.
The joy of spending no money is the best thrill. There are no turnstiles, no staff rushing you, you can take photos for as long as you like. I really enjoyed the small rodent area; the lemming brothers' mini-elevator moves up and down on a timer, I snapped away, and my phone gallery instantly got 200 new emojis. The lightning fast “speed racing” actually turns out to be a really slow convertible car that takes automatic photos, and you can download them by scanning a QR code; also free.

I’ve been to all three, and West Bank is the best for spontaneous visits; it’s easy to swing by after work. Zhang Garden is good for rainy days, and Disney is saved for holidays.
After 7 PM is prime time. The sun just set, the lights just turned on, and the temperature dropped from 35℃ to 28℃, with the river breeze adding moisture; it feels better than air conditioning. After finishing the exhibition, I didn’t rush to leave, instead, I sat on the steps under the Popsicle, watching the lights across the river in Pudong gradually come to life, while listening to "Try Everything," feeling like the whole summer has been forgiven.
